This six-week online course explores the fundamentals of emerging mixed reality cinematic techniques that are becoming integral production tools in both film and gaming industries. It covers practical camera and video fundamentals, building cinematic scenes in Unreal Engine, controlling virtual cameras, and integrating live video into Unreal using various tracking systems.
Outcomes/Objectives
Recipients of the Mixed Reality Virtual Production Badge demonstrate the ability to:
Understand basic camera principles and production terminology.
Use Unreal Engine as a cinematic production tool.
Control a Virtual camera with a mobile device.
Track and integrate a DSLR camera into Unreal using Vive components.
Deliverable
The deliverables include:
Building full cinematic scenes in Unreal Engine using Marketplace assets
Animating virtual cameras and lighting on the Sequencer
Preparing shots for export and integration into Adobe Premiere
Implementing virtual production green screen techniques
Integrating live video into Unreal using mobile devices or DSLR with Vive tracking system
